Maitreya Buddha Trust
Promoting friendship, humanity, spiritual development and peaceful coexistence — for a compassionate and harmonious society.
About The Trust
A world connected through Maitri — compassion, mindfulness and peace.
The Trust has been founded with the vision of promoting universal human values — friendship, humanity and social harmony — beyond the barriers of religion, caste, community, language, gender, nationality or social status. Inspired by ancient Indian philosophy and the teachings associated with Maitreya Buddha, the Trust works to nurture compassion, mindfulness, ethical living and inner transformation for individuals and communities alike.
To promote friendship, brotherhood, compassion, mutual respect, love, harmony and peaceful coexistence among all sections of society — encouraging unity beyond the barriers of religion, caste, community, language, gender, nationality, political ideology or social status. The Trust undertakes programmes aimed at reducing hatred, discrimination, violence, social isolation, loneliness, intolerance and conflict by promoting understanding, dialogue and cooperation.
To impart spiritual knowledge and wisdom based on universal human values and the teachings of ancient Indian and Buddhist philosophy — without promoting or favouring any particular religion or engaging in religious conversion. The Trust encourages self-awareness, compassion, mindfulness, ethical living and inner transformation, and publishes and distributes educational material on spirituality, ethics, philosophy, peace and human development.
To promote meditation, mindfulness, yoga, breathing techniques, emotional wellness and other scientifically accepted practices for improving mental, emotional and spiritual health. The Trust conducts camps, retreats, workshops, training programmes, counselling sessions and awareness campaigns for stress management, mental peace and holistic well-being — through non-commercial educational programmes.
